"Stepping Stone" Goals

BISAWPA's ambition is to create a more connected, protected and vibrant Big Island by creating goals in phases.

Phase One: Completed - Picnic shelter, commercial grade picnic tables, grill, bike rack, and ADA access ramps to levee bike path at Lock 31.

Phase Two: Resurface levee bike trail from Hwy 67 bridge to west pump station. Install directional signs along bike trail. Improve primitive trail to Lock 32. Boat access & sanitary facilities at Lock 31 & 32.

Phase Three: Neighborhood bike/walk trail connections from Big Island to trail and connection to Milan.

Phase Four: Recreational trail around Mirror Lake, placement of heron statue and plantings along trail, observation deck and seating.
